Why pay for a boat you won't use? I got my '71 O23 for free from a relative who didn't want it in his driveway anymore. I spent a month getting it sea-worthy. It was ugly, but safe and I sailed for 3 months that first year. I do a little more each year. I'm almost around to cosmetics.
I had a wooden sailboat that I worked on for 3 years and never got to sail before I had to give it away for a song. Never again.
I found two more boats that I could get rather cheap,
